Here’s how Israel is repeatedly violating the Lebanon ceasefire | Israel attacks Lebanon News

According to the initial conditions of the agreement that led to the ceasefire between Israel and the Lebanese Group in November, it was scheduled to withdraw its forces from southern Lebanon by January 26.

This date came and went, but Israel refused to retreat from its army, and instead the deadline was pushed to February 18. Israel also continued to bomb intermittent areas in Lebanon – to collective condemnation from the latter – claiming that it was targeting Hezbollah for violations of the ceasefire.

The Israeli presence in southern Lebanon means that thousands of people are still unable to return to their homes in the border villages, with the Israeli forces launching people who are very close.

The conflict between Israel and Hezbollah – a Shiite group, which is the most powerful military force in Lebanon – began on October 8, where the Lebanese group launched solidarity with the Palestinian group Hamas in Gaza, which was under an Israeli attack. Israel Her attacks on Lebanon are intensified In September and killed Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah On September 27.

Israel has killed about 4,000 people throughout Lebanon since October 2023.

Why is Israel still occupying southern Lebanon? How is this “ceasefire”? What is the exact final game of Israel?

That’s all you need to know.

Did the “ceasefire” stop the war?

While Hezbollah stopped its attacks, it was not Israel.

The bombing of Israel is not anywhere near the same intensity as it was before the ceasefire began on November 27, and the night bombing of the southern Beirut outskirts stopped.

However, Israel is still carrying out attacks, some of which are north of the Litani River – which Hezbollah is required to move its forces north, according to the ceasefire agreement.

Armed Hadath Data and Data Project (ACLED), data collection, Record 330 of the air strike and bombing It is carried out by Israel between November 27 and January 10, in addition to 260 property destruction event.

What about Hezbollah?

Israel claims that Hezbollah has failed to meet the conditions of the ceasefire.

Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz said that Hezbollah had not withdrawn north of the Litani River, which is located in southern Lebanon.

“If this condition is not met, there will be no agreement and Israel will have to act on its own to ensure a safe return to the inhabitants of the north to their homes,” Katz said in January.

Hezbollah Secretary -General Naim Qasim said in a speech in late January that Hezbollah has committed to stopping the shooting agreement, but it was not specifically less whether his group had withdrawn completely from the south or not.

ACLed has recorded one attack by Hezbollah since the ceasefire began.

“Hezbollah has largely refrained from violence – there have been no direct attacks on the Israeli soil since it entered the ceasefire, regardless of one attack on December 2 against an Israeli Royst site in the occupied territories that we return in the name of Syria,” ACLED’s, I told Amin Muhafar Al -Jazeera.

Qasim said the group will remain patient despite the repeated attacks against it.

What was the international reaction?

Lebanon filed a complaint with the United Nations against Israel for violations of the ceasefire.

France President Emmanuel Macron urged Israel to meet the deadline for the first ceasefire to withdraw its forces, to a large extent. France and the United States were the original intermediaries.

Is there any resort to violations?

According to diplomatic sources, the United States – a strong ally of Israel – gave assurances that the deal will be adhered to.

But there was no other asylum – and there are no proposed penalties – if the ceasefire violated.

Israel has not yet assumed responsibility for the violations of repeated shooting or the extension of the ceasefire until February 18.

What happens if Israel refuses to leave Lebanon?

This is not clear.

Qasim from Hezbollah said in a speech in January that the patience of his group could run out of Israel’s violations. But in a newer speech, he seemed to bear the responsibility of Israel opposing the Lebanese state.

Qasim said in a televised speech last week: “The Lebanese state is completely responsible for following up, pressuring and trying to prevent what is possible, through herders and international pressure, this violation and this Israeli aggression.”

The Lebanese army is supposed to move to southern Lebanon as part of the ceasefire agreement.

Any response from Hezbollah will be limited to the weakness that itself finds. The fall of the regime of President Bashar al -Assad in Syria cut off the Hezbollah road to receive weapons from his main supporter, Iran.

Its military capabilities were also severely beaten during a two -month escalation from September to November, when Israel invaded Lebanon. Most of her supreme military leadership has lost.

For these reasons, Hezbollah appears to be reluctant to take any action that gives Israel a reason to intensify its attacks.
