‘We have nothing left to lose’: Gazans respond to Trump’s warnings | Gaza News

Gaza City – For many in Gaza, US President Donald Trump’s recent threats feel that it is no more than a justification for more violence and collective punishment against them.
Late Wednesday, Trump threatened the people of Gaza, saying they would be “dead” if the prisoners continue to keep it there.
As Gaza continues to deal with the post -destructive war – collective displacement, widespread destruction, and terrible human conditions – people are exhausting and skeptical of international efforts to resolve the war.
Al -Jazeera spoke to the Palestinians in northern Gaza about Trump’s threats.
“Nothing remains for sadness.”

Yasser Al -Sharava, 59, said that he ignores these threats because, like many in Gaza, nothing left to lose.
Now, he runs a temporary position that sells candy and snacks for children.
Before, he said: “I used to be a well -known clothing dealer. I had a large store, a six -storey building, a car, and stock warehouses in Tal Al -Hawa in Gaza City. All these years of hard work disappeared, destroyed in the war.
“Everywhere you look at it is destruction, ruin and misery. Is there anything left for us for sadness?
“Trump or from, no difference.”
South during the war succeeded, and the Sharava and his family returned to the north after the ceasefire began, only to find a devastating area where life is hardly possible.
“Even if the prisoners are delivered, nothing will change. The war may return at any moment with a new argument. We have lost confidence in the whole world.”
“Is Gaza the root of the world’s problems?”

Hamilla Mahmoud, 62, did not hear Trump’s minute words, but some members of her family discussed this Thursday morning.
“As you can see, we are completely cut off from everything. No internet, no electricity, no way to connect.”
Mahmoud believes that Trump’s threats are part of a psychological war that aims to force people out of Gaza.
“Every time, there is a new scenario – sometimes, talking about forced displacement; sometimes, Israel takes over Gaza. Today, it is threats to all the residents of Gaza on the prisoners.”
“Did Gaza suddenly become the root of all the problems of the world?” I asked.
Mahmoud insists that regardless of what is happening, she will not give up her right to live in Gaza, her homeland.
“I will stay on my ground, even if it is just my home ruins, regardless of what,” she confirmed.
“No one stands beside us”

Iman Abu Dai, who walks at home with some foodstuffs for his family, told Al -Jazeera that he just wanted that “Hamas determines the priority for the public interest at the present time – to accept a deal, negotiate, and hand over the prisoners so that this endless nightmare can finish.”
The 60 -year -old added: “This is the only reasonable option … Our position is weak, and no one stands next to us.”
But he doubts that handing over the prisoners will not end the war for Trump and Israel, although it may make the war in the future less destructive.
I think the American people will reject these threats. Abu Daih said: “They will not accept their country leading another collective war.”
“We have lost 50,000 people. Two of my children were killed in this war – in October and December 2023 – two young men in their pride. I lost my house as well. We have suffered enough loss and suffering.”
“The Arab countries are silent, and the Europeans are silent. How can we continue to fight without any supporters? We will be the only victims.”
“Leave us alone”
Will Abu Ahmed, 75, from Sheikh Radwan in Northern Gaza City, said he was surprised by the threats of Trump.
“What did we leave in Gaza? We have seen horrors in this war – did they not do enough?”
“Trump’s comments do not carry any weight or value. I think it raises threats to pressure enthusiasm. The only thing remaining for them is to completely wipe us.”
Ahmed, a retired bureaucrat and a five -year -old father now lives with his children and grandchildren in one apartment after their home has been targeted again and again during the Israel war.
He had refused to evacuate the south and stayed in the north of Gaza with his family until the ceasefire.
“I lived more years than I left. I stayed in my house and said:” I will die here, whatever it is. “
“Leave us alone. Let’s face the catastrophe that shocked us – or we all kill us and get us out of our misery. That’s all that I left to say,” and he concluded, walking away.
