President Donald Trump suggested that the United States take over nuclear power plants in Ukraine in a phone call with Ukrainian President Voludmir Zelinski on Wednesday.

The call between the two leaders came a day after Trump spoke to his Russian counterpart, Vladimir Putin, as part of the US president to end the war between Russia and Ukraine.

President Trump also discussed the electrical supply in Ukraine and Nuclear energy Plants, “according to a novel by Foreign Minister Marco Rubio and National Security Adviser Mike Walz.

“He said that the United States can be very useful in managing these plants through its electrical and beneficial experience,” the summary added, with the ownership of the United States “the best protection” of the Ukrainian energy infrastructure.

It was not clear any of UkraineThe energy assets that Trump suggested controlled the United States. In recent days, Trump and his team have repeatedly noted the importance of Ukraine nuclear facilities.

In response to a question from the Financial Times that was mentioned on the power assets in the call, Zelinski said on Wednesday evening that he and Trump discussed only the Zaporizhzhia nuclear plant in southern Ukraine, which is currently under the control of Russian forces.

Zelinski added that whether controlling the United States on the factory could be part of the peace plan “the issue of whether we are able to recover it and restore operations.” The Ukrainian president said he was exploring with Washington if there was an understanding that the United States could recover [the power plant]”.

Regardless of the Zaporizhzia factory, the largest Europe, Ukraine has three facilities in the regions of the country that is still kept.

The invitation comes at a time when Trump’s peace industry’s ambitions showed signs of stumbling, despite his repeated demands during the presidential campaign for the past year that he would end the conflicts in Ukraine and Gaza.

The ceasefire deal collapsed by the United States between Israel and Hamas earlier this week, while Trump failed on Tuesday to persuade Putin to agree to a full ceasefire in Ukraine.

During a call on Wednesday, Zelenskyy agreed to an American proposal to stop the strikes on Russian energy infrastructure.

The deal comes a day after the President of Russia agreed to stop 30 days of attacks on Ukrainian energy assets. However, Moscow continued to launch strikes on Ukraine on Wednesday morning, reaching the power supply of a national railway.

In a publication on the social truth after the invitation on Wednesday, Trump described his discussion with Zelinski as “very good”, adding that the peace talks were “on the right track.”

The White House later said that the agreement on energy infrastructure strikes was a prelude to more talks in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia “in the coming days” to extend the ceasefire to the Black Sea.

He added that this was a step “on the way to a full ceasefire.”

Zelinski described his call with Trump as a “very essential and frank conversation”, but also called for stopping the attacks to extend it to “other civil infrastructure.”

The White House said that Zelinski had asked the United States to supply Patriot missile systems, adding that Trump agreed to work with him to find “what is available in Europe.”

Zelinski and Trump also discussed the exchange of the prisoner who happened earlier on Wednesday, who was aiming to build confidence in Trump’s attempt to peace. Russia and Ukraine said they exchanged 175 prisoners in one of the largest exchanges in the war.

“President Zelinski thanked President Trump for continuing to push human concerns, including the exchange of prisoners of war,” according to the American account of the call.
