Ukraine to run out of US weapons by summer

It seems that the long possibility that is unimaginable to fight Ukraine without American weapons, equipment, or intelligence, appears to be a reality after the White House announced on Monday that it would reduce military aid to Kiev.

A senior Ukrainian intelligence official said that Ukraine may run out of the last American military supplies in “two or three months”.

“After that, it will be very difficult for us,” the official of the Financial Times told the Financial Times. “This will not be a complete collapse, but we will have to withdraw from the regions more quickly.”

In the fourth year of Russia’s extensive invasion of Russia, tens of thousands of Ukrainian forces start from continuous Russian attacks from East and South Ukraine trenches. Along the 1,000 -km front line, the end of the American military aid will get long -term consequences for the army that is beaten, even if the European allies complete some of the lost equipment.

Washington announced its decision to suspend military aid three days after a clash in the Oval Office between Donald Trump and Volodimir Zelinski, who was prompted by the Ukrainian leader’s refusal to agree to the ceasefire without any guarantees to deter Russia from the future aggression.

The White House said on Monday that it “stopped and reviewed” its military assistance to ensure “Ukraine’s leadership” committed a peace agreement.

During the past three years, the total US military support reached $ 65.9 billion, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. While Congress seized nearly $ 175 billion, only part of this went directly to Ukraine. Some have been used for other purposes such as training of Ukrainian forces in the United States.

The support of artillery and armored vehicles to provide advanced air defense systems, mobile bridges launched by vehicles, and anti-tank mines and long-range missiles.

It is important for Ukraine that support includes the exchange of intelligence, which has been reported has not yet been suspended.

“It is generally difficult to measure the impact, because there is a good amount of US support that has not been publicly discussed,” says Michael Kaufman, military analyst and military colleague in Carnegie International Peace, an American research center.

European allies have risen in recent days to raise funds and buy military equipment for Ukraine. But the continent is still struggling by increasing the production of weapons, and some major equipment are still unique to the United States.

The deficiency of the Patriot systems of Patriot systems that are used by Ukraine will represent a major blow to the country’s defensive capabilities, just as Russia has expanded its drone and hitting missiles in the depths of Ukraine.

“If the country is forced to stop using the most advanced air defense system in its arsenal,” says Emile Castilli, an analyst who monitors the war for the group of black birds that Ukraine will need a difficult priority. “

On the front lines, where the bulk of the fighting is now revealing using an amazing set of explosive drones that fly to soldiers, the effect will take several weeks.

While the vast majority of drones used by the Ukrainian forces are now produced locally, the army still uses a wide range of American weapons and vehicles that require continuous maintenance and a fixed spare parts.

A deficiency of artillery shells can be met in part through European efforts, as the European Union plans to produce up to 2MN artillery shellS in 2025.

“My general view is that we will start seeing a major impact within two months, and it will be associated primarily with Ukraine’s ability to make accurate strikes,” Kovman said.

The multiple Himars made by multiple missile launchers enabled Ukraine to destroy high -value targets such as driving functions and logistics centers on Russian soil.

On Monday, the Special Forces in Ukraine released HIMARS footage using the malva “Malva”.

“We have no real alternative to The Himars,” says Pavlu Narosani, Ukrainian military analyst and co -founder of the Ractive Post, an organization that supports Ukrainian artillery units.

Himars also enabled Ukraine to use long -range Atacams missiles to strike in Russia, 300 km away. Narozhny said that Kyiv has the United Kingdom and French Shadow Shadow and long -range scalp missiles, “but it is not the same, it is much slower and easier to object.”

Without our support, “the front will not collapse, but Russia will continue to advance.”

Although it is not part of the official support of the United States has been stopped by Washington, the most harmful step for the front lines units in Ukraine will be the closure of the Starlink ELONONK system, an internet provider that works with the satellite that has become used everywhere between the Ukrainian powers thanks to speed and reliability.

“If Starlink is closed, the problems will start immediately,” Yaher Versov, the former Ukrainian deputy who is now working in the army, Written in late February. “The infantry in the defensive baked, the intelligence, the drones and the artillery, the brigade’s headquarters and the battalion. Everyone uses Starlink.”

While the Ukrainian forces can and use radio contacts, the battlefield decisions depend greatly on the flow of video clips and pictures that require a broad broad connection.

“It will be a great success, but we are working on alternatives,” said an officer serving in a brigade in the northeast of the country. “I mean, we are fighting in the Kursk region and there is no star there.”

Washington’s amazing decision to suspend aid comes because Ukraine precedes the efforts to develop its own capabilities.

“I said, a year ago, we need to train here in Ukraine as if the United States would disappear,” said Sirhi Brettola, head of one of the largest fundraising organizations in Ukraine.

A few hours before Washington announced its decision to stop his military support for Ukraine, the politician and the volunteer said: “We are very grateful for all the assistance that the United States provided to Ukraine, but we need to care for ourselves and develop our defense industry with our European partners.”
