The Donald Trump team has sparked the possibility of the US President Golf Resort in Scotland as a place for the open championship during Sir Kerr Starmer’s White House visit this week.
R & A, the administrative body that runs the open, the oldest golf championship in the world, said in 2021 that it will not host the tournament at Turnberry Resort in Trump due to the January 6 attack on Capitol Hill that year.
Recently last November, the outgoing research and development coach said Martin Slumbers said that this situation has not changed, saying that he does not want the “media noise” to detract from the game. The body now has a new head, Mark Darbon.
The American President’s team raised the research and development position this week with the UK delegation when he made Starmer His first visit To Washington as Prime Minister to discuss European trade, security and conflict in Ukraine, according to one person close to the talks.
The White House and Downing Street did not respond to the suspension requests.

R&A 10 has courses in the championship list, where Turnberry has been included since the 1970s, even after it came out of preference in 2021. Ailsa hosted the main jolly juvenile event in Britain in 1977, 1986, 1994 and 2009.
One of the UK Minister said that the open has not been held in Turnberry for years for logistical reasons instead of politics. He claimed that the place needs “tens, hundreds, millions of pounds of investment” to improve the possibility of its arrival through public transportation and roads as well as improved hotel facilities.
Trump was open to his desire to play the place, adding again, announcing in 2022 that “the open wanted to return.”
“We are fortunate because we have a group of ten great courses to choose from the open,” said R&A.
“We will continue to choose our places on this basis,” said R&A.

Golf experts said that the attendance of the open tournaments has increased significantly since the turnberry event in 2009, which attracted 123,000 people.
On the contrary, the spectators attended 258,174 spectators, Royal Tron, a few miles north of Turnberry, 261,180 came to Royal Liverpool (Hilick) in 2023, and 290,000 came to Saint Andrews in 2022.
“We have some questions that we need to work on on the logistical and commercial front,” Darbon, CEO of R&A told Telegraph on Friday.
“When we were there in 2009, we had slightly more than 100,000 for this week. We are working comfortably more than twice that in most of our places today. So it’s not just simple like saying” Are we going back? “There is a large part of the work required to investigate.”
Open places were chosen until 2027. The site of the 2028 event was not chosen, which will be last year before the end of Trump’s term in January 2029.

The Sahar Starmer attack in Washington included Trump’s delivery of a message signed by King Charles, who invited him to visit the “unprecedented” state of the United Kingdom. In the letter, Charles suggested a meeting at Balmoral or Dumfries House, which is a short distance from Trump Golf.
The open was first held in 1860 with Jack Nicolas, Targer Woods and Arnold Palmer between golf players to raise the winner Joj Clarit.
Nick Oldham, General Manager of Turnberry, wrote a public statement in July last year urging research and development to allow the place to host the 2027 event. However, in January, research and development confirmed that St. Andrews will host that year.
In 2022, Trump Turneri made a profit before the tax of 571,000 pounds, its only profit in 10 years. SLC Turnberry accounts the following year shows that it returns red with losses of 1.69 million pounds.
Trump International rejected Scotland, which runs Turnberry, the comment.
