The Palestinians Israel displaces in the West Bank have nowhere to go | Israel-Palestine conflict News

In early February, the Israeli forces stormed the Nur Shams refugee camp in the occupied West Bank and began to sweep the homes, demolishing stores and tearing roads.

Nur Shams is located directly outside the northern coastal city of Tulkarem, which has been increasingly violent Israeli raids in recent years, especially in the Tulkarem camp for refugees.

The rapid and deliberate destruction of Israel in the Tolkram and Nour Shams camps uprooted thousands of population and the number of endless life in days.

Hamdan Fahmawi’s store was damaged and sabotaged in raids – the third time a year.

On February 26, the 46 -year -old, who left the area, made the risky decision to return with his 17 -year -old son and some employees to inspect his store in Nour Shams and recover some important cash and papers.

In the end, the Israeli soldiers told us to go out [of the shop and leave the camp]So we did. Fahwi said:

Displacement

Since the attacks on Israel began on the West Bank on January 21 – days after it had to stop its destroyed war on Gaza – Israeli soldiers have strongly committed at least 40,000 Palestinians from their homes in the camps.

The declared goal of Israel’s new raids, which are called Iron wall process, It is the disposal of “Iranian -backed Iranian groups” from Hamas and the Palestinian Islamic Jihad (Pij) in three refugee camps: Jenin, Tolkrim and Nour Shams.

In 2021, desperate and double Palestinian youth formed armed groups dedicated to the constant resistance of Israel, according to a report issued by the International Crisis Group.

However, they barely pose a threat to Israeli soldiers or illegal settlers, and instead they collide with the Israeli security forces when they invaded the camps.

Israel is still trying to exaggerate the capabilities of armed groups – framing them as Iranian agents – to justify the destruction of camps and uprooting thousands of Palestinians as part of a greater plan to make Palestinian life cannot be affected in the occupied West Bank, analysts, population and human rights.

“I think people [who have been displaced] “They are lost and they are not sure of what must be done or what their next steps will be,” said Murad Jad Allah, a human rights researcher in the Palestinian Rights Group.

“We have reached a new level of uncertainty,” he said to Al -Jazeera.

Norddin Ali, 17, said that many families escaped or lost their homes in Nour Shams and ended up staying with relatives and friends outside the camp.

But then many were uprooted for the second time when the Israeli forces raided the homes surrounding Nur Shams and expelled more families.

Ali Al -Jazeera was told that Israel usually turned homes inside the camp and around him into temporary “interrogation” centers.

“What is happening is the will of the Israelis [come into a neighbourhood] And he takes a random house … After that, no one in that area is able to enter or leave their house without risking shot, killing or searching and arrested. “

“People will return”

Residents, who add, say that the random attacks of Israel compels thousands of people to search for shelter in schools, mosques and football fields, who add that the only help available to them is from the Palestinians who mobilized them to provide basic comfort – donating blankets, bedding, food and water.

Ali believes that most Palestinians will return to their homes in the camps as soon as Israel stops its raid.

“The way I see things, regardless of what the Israelis are doing, people will return to the homes where they grew up because life without the camp is impossible for them,” he told Al -Jazeera.

Fahmawi adds that most people from the camp are very poor so that they cannot bear life in the larger cities, so they will return to the light of Shams even if Israel is rooting its existence to intimidate the Palestinians and harass them.

“Everywhere in Palestine is dangerous, not just the camps … there is no law [the Israeli army] Any Palestinian can be shot at any time. However, we have no other place to go. We do not have an option.

More wealthy Palestinians have different considerations.

Jadallah said that an intimate friend moved to Jordan with his family for fear that Israel will attack soon and destroy the Palestinian cities – such as Tolkrim, Jenin and Ramallah – in the same way that they attack the camps.

“My friend used to live in the Jenin camp, but then he got a good income, so he moved with his family to the city of Jenin,” Jad Allah explained.

He added: “They recently decided to go to Jordan and put their children in school there, because the city of Jenin has become very dangerous,” referring to the repeated military raids of the Israelis, which often targets civilians.

Fahwi does not believe that departure will make the Palestinians safer.

It indicates the latter The kidnapping of the Palestinian doctorate student Mahmoud Khalil It is acceptable to the United States for Immigration and Customs on March 8, although Khalil has legal permanent residence in the United States.

The administration of US President Donald Trump canceled Khalil’s permanent establishment as a punishment for the leadership of the University of Colombia’s students against what many experts and rights describe as the genocide of Israel in Gaza.

“There is no alternative to the homeland,” Fahmawi said to Al -Jazeera. “In the end, there is no other place for all of us to go … if we die, we will die on our land.”
