Russia and Ukraine have agreed to a ceasefire in the Black Sea in separate deals with the United States, three days after the peace talks in Saudi Arabia.

Washington said that all parties will continue to work for a “permanent and lasting peace” in statements announcing the agreements, which would reopen an important commercial road.

The White House said it also adhered to “developing measures” to carry out a previously agreed ban on attacking the energy infrastructure of each other.

But Russia said that the ceasefire would not come into effect until after a number of sanctions were filed against the food and fertilizer trade.
