Sir Kerr Starmer pledged to roam in “emergency legislation in one day” on Saturday to save the British steel site in Scunthorpe, where he recalled Parliament to avoid the company’s collapse and a loss of 3,500 jobs.

The Prime Minister said that the government would control the factory and order its Chinese owners to retain the fooming ovens, and the other in the United Kingdom, in a move seen as an introduction to full nationalization.

Since the relations between the government and the Jingye group, the owner of the British Steel, the disintegration, took Starmer the unusual step of summoning deputies from Easter Easter to pass the emergency law.

“We will transfer emergency legislation in one day to give the Minister of Business Powers to do everything possible to stop the closure of these son -in -law,” Starmer said in a statement in Downing Street.

Senior government officials claimed that Jenny, who bought the British steel in 2020, was ready to allow the fennel of the son -in -law to close, which led to their removal from work forever.

Jonathan Reynolds, business secretary and trade, said:

Downting Street said that emergency legislation will allow ministers “direct steel companies in England”, but at the present time he stopped full nationalization British steel.

However, senior Whitehall officials said this is a holding process and that full nationalization is now possible. One of them said: “One of the considerations was the speed by which you can pass legislation on nationalization.”

Officials No. 10 said that the Emergency Powder Law – which is certain that the vast majority of the House of Commons Party – was seen as the fastest way to maintain Scunthorpe.

A government official said that new powers will be used to request new raw materials, which are paid by the taxpayer, to keep the site’s work.

“This is a bold work … It is an important step to take only an essential step,” another government official said, he admitted that the state will have to put the money.

“There will be costs for surgery from any option,” the official said.

He leaves the closure of ovens in Scunthorpe UK As the only country G7 is unable to make steel from zero point using raw materials.

“The government is to control business and compensate the administration to work based on instructions to buy and use raw materials.”

The person said that the fully national nationalization bill is likely to follow after the public back from Easter comfort in late April.

British steel refused to comment.

Talks to secure a future steel industry, which employ 3,500 workers in three locations, takes place throughout the week between ministers and jingye.

Jingye last month warned that the remaining company’s melting ovens are no longer financially financially and began consultations on job losses.

The Chinese group said that it has invested more than 1.2 billion pounds in the company since it took over, but it has been losing 700,000 pounds per day, partly due to the high environmental costs.

The latest British Steel accounts showed that it was mainly funded by her father’s debt facilities and had 736 million pounds of debts owed at the end of December 2023.

Last month, Jingye rejected a 500 million pounds taxpayer support package to help her move to more green forms to produce steel.

Preserving the Steel Industry in Britain has become a major strategic priority for the government, which has placed 2.5 billion pounds to support the sector.

The Starmer government is also developing an industrial strategy to support the main sectors, and is particularly concerned about threatening the steel industry from US President Donald Trump’s tariff of 25 percent on US steel imports and aluminum.

Roy Rikos, Secretary -General of the Community Steel Union, who represents most workers in Scunthorpe, welcomed the emergency sitting of Parliament.

He said: “It is important that a solution to secure a future for the British steel is found as a vital strategic work.” “We cannot allow Britain to become the only G7 country without the ability to make primary steel.”

Sharon Graham, Secretary -General of the Union of Union, said it was “pleased because the government has listened to representations” on the future of the British steel.

“It is the right thing at all to start the nationalization process.”
