I’ve spent decades building tech that changes how we work. Here’s why AI agents won’t take your job

For a long time I have been enough to see every major transformation in the workplace technology raises the same reaction: panic.
I saw him when we moved the work to the cloud. When we started using artificial intelligence to search and discover knowledge. When we replaced the data schedules with shared documents. And now with The rise of artificial intelligence agentsI see it again.
The question always comes quickly: Will this technology take my job?
Here is my answer to today’s version of this existential question: Artificial intelligence agents will not analyze you. But someone uses it.
This is not a threat-it is an invitation to wake up. Because this generation of artificial intelligence is not related to automation. It is about amplification and influence.
Meet the new MVP from the work: the man of artificial intelligence glue
To explain what I mean, allow me to borrow a similarity of sport. I have long admired athletes like NBA Swingman Andre Iguodala – those who do not lead the league in statistics but are very necessary for their teams. I flourished. They defend. They communicate. It makes the players around them better. That is why Iggy was named after the MVP Champions League in 2015 – he had done brave, which was ignored by the one who gathered the warriors together.
In basketball, they call this type of “Glue Guy” players.
This is what artificial intelligence agents do. They are the glorious comrades for the modern team-not the stars, but the makers of the silent difference. Fill the gaps. They keep everything in contact. They help people accomplish their work faster, more accurate and better.
Take one of the companies that my team has collaborated in Growthlooop recently – ILLGRO, which is widely considered.Amazon From Eastern Europe. “It uses an AI’s agent tool and sits on its database.
All of this happens from one interface, such as a modern marketing center. Agents do not replace humans – they can. The result? 2x elevator in return on the advertising spending. 60 % jump in the total goods value. Nearly 70 % decrease in cost per click.
This is not an alternative to the job. This is the transformation of the job.
And the best part? I just started.
We have seen this dynamic play before. In my previous company, we presented Glean – a tool that helped her launch on how to discover the knowledge difference inside its companies – the same story. People fear excessive pregnancy. But what they found was a faster path to the correct information, and more time to solve real problems. This is the story of every big boom in technology: First, fear. Then, productivity. Then, progress.
What makes artificial intelligence agents feel the difference is how quickly their development is. These models are not only automated by the tasks of the left brain, such as mathematics and schedule anymore. They now deal with the tasks of the right brain-creativity, language and strategy. But the real penetration is their ability to think about real time and allocate results. These agents are not just tools – they are strategic partners. They process the data faster than any human patterns, miss it, and suggest options that we may never take.
We have already seen this shift through industries. Developers use artificial intelligence to create code and topography faster. Customer support teams provide custom answers in seconds because agents collect previous reactions in the background. The creative teams test the campaigns without waiting for weeks for results.
None of this makes Amnesty International frightening or removes the need for humans. It eliminates toil.
Look at any large company and you will find a mountain of work busy. Report layers, status updates, and manual coordination consume huge amounts of time – what is called for an autopsy of the work index in “work around work” 60 % of a person’s day. All these hours add up to huge amounts of lost time. It is modern “TPS reports” (from Office spaceOn repetition. But artificial intelligence agents change this. Imagine if, for each project, a three-game brittle summary of three games created automatically and a weekly subscriber-no chase, without assembly. Now your product manager can spend time with customers, not floors. Your marketing driving can focus on creative data, not a five -tool. These agents do not steal jobs; They liberate people to do the work that already matters.
Will some jobs change? definitely. But show me an era when they did not. The higher jobs today have not been in 20 years. A guide engineer. Data strategy. AI is the supervisor agent. There is a complete new category of emerging work on how to direct these systems, wisdom and cooperation with these systems.
It is easy to feel exhausted, especially with how quickly things move. But the speed does not mean chaos. In fact, artificial intelligence agents can help tame chaos, especially for companies buried in decades of horrific data, old tools, and fragmented workflow. It is the connective fabric, the lost link. Glue.
Here is the thing about the glue players: they do not seek the lights. They make the team better.
The future of work is a group sport
If you are a leader who reads this, I encourage you to start identifying new technology where humans and agents cooperate, in the same way that human difference works today. Ask yourself what tasks of low and repeated value are no one loves.
The workforce is more adaptable than we give it credit. History shows that when people are given new tools, they find new ways to work. The same will happen here. We will invent the jobs that we have not yet thought about. We will solve the problems that we once considered uninterrupted. We will build a team where every person, a person or agent, plays their strengths.
If I have 10 seconds in front of each employee of Fortune 500, here is what I say: You will not lose your job in front of artificial intelligence agents. You will lose her to someone who knows how to cooperate with them well. So embrace it. Learn that. Use it to make your business better – and more humane. There are no limits for human creativity. Agents will help reduce the distance from the idea to influence.
Because in this new age of work, the strongest step you can do is play like a team. Your team will only benefit from the presence of glue youth.
