Israel’s genocide continues, and ‘we remain numbers’ | Gaza

After months of genocide, the ceasefire – even that they allowed them to continue to deprive the Palestinians in Gaza of their basic rights to food, water, medical care, education and freedom of movement – proved a lot for the Israeli forces. So they decided to continue their war on Gaza.
Israel accidentally abandoned the ceasefire and restarted its deadly war that has already destroyed Gaza and killed tens of thousands, because it knew that the global community would not do anything to stop it. After all, the world has not been indifferent to violations and the ceasefire in the numerous Israel and the massacres of the Palestinians since 1948. Israel violates international law without any meaningful consequences since its inception.
Israel did not divide this last ceasefire agreement because it believes that the Palestinian team was taken first. The agreement was not broken to try to recover its remaining prisoners (this will happen, after all, if the agreement is adhered to).
Israel broke the ceasefire to prevent the rebuilding of Gaza. The war has prepared to prevent the Palestinians from trying to rebuild even a small part of their destructive homeland – to ensure that any Palestinian in Gaza has any hope in the future.
The end of the temporary ceasefire was the beginning of another period of displacement, loss and fear for people who have long been suffering from Gaza. On the first night of the renewed war, Israel bombed all parts of the Gaza Strip immediately before dawn. More than 400 civilians, they were preparing food in favor of Surah in their cold tents when the bombs began to rain, and lost their lives in the most horrific ways and moved to another world where they would be free from the ill -treatment of Israel and cruelty. Many of the dead were children who died hungry, fearful and cold. The massacre, which was undoubtedly committed with the full approval of the Americans, was also injured by hundreds of others, and filling the remaining few hospitals.
Since that night, bombs, threats and killing have not stopped.
Amid the renewed genocide, the echoes of a continuous voice – hollow slogans, are repeated, free of any humanity, by people all over the world who want to calm their conscience towards Gaza. The tragedy and the suffering of the exhausted people in Gaza in their mouths and minds were reduced to an empty celebration of their “legendary steadfastness.” The people of Gaza are stripped of their humanity and imagined as heroes that do not grieve or tire.
Do not do the slogans around the world, do not do anything to stop suffering in Gaza. On the contrary, they make it difficult for the Palestinians to express themselves – to express their fear, love and dreams of a decent life free from war and loss, free from waking up to the sound of missiles. The world expects nothing but to die in silence as heroes.
After Israel restored the genocide, governments and institutions did not do anything to feed a hungry child or protect a family from the occupation missiles. They only released empty data – “condemned” and “denounced”. But he did nothing that would make a difference.
The Palestinians knew that the response of the world would not go beyond words, and that these words – no matter how correct – will not achieve anything. Since the beginning of their persecution, they have repeatedly seen how these statements, condemnation and reports of human rights and even the rulings of the court do not do anything to alleviate their suffering. Now, they know very well that the world will not take any real action to help them. They know that the international community is deaf even on the sound of its conscience when it comes to Palestine.
For years, we Palestinians fought not only for our survival but to restore our humanity in the eyes of the world. We have talked through protests, art, cinema and journalism – desperate to penetrate from global indifference that reduces us from the sectors of news and statistics on media platforms.
Initiatives such as We are not numbers – What I was part of – was created as a reaction to this disposal of humanity. Our stories have told us to remind the world that we are not just urgent news or reports of victims, but humans with names, history, emotions and most important dreams.
We have written about the friends who lost our years, our homes that were reduced to the rubble, the injustice that attaches our people, and our life that has been changed forever through the occupation of Israel and ill -treatment – in the hope that we will share our facts, by sharing our facts, we can compel the world to see us.
But despite all this, the Palestinians remain numbers. When the family is eliminated in an air strike, the main headlines calculate the dead, but they do not call them. They do not say who they are – the child who loved football with his friends, the teenager who was dreaming of getting a high cumulative rate to make his family proud, the mother who carried her children close in the last moments.
However, when Israel claims that it has targeted “high-level militants” the world’s attention immediately-not to dozens of innocent civilians who were killed in the strike, but for the so-called success or the failure of the assassination. The world is sadness in abstraction, separate from lost spirits. Thus, killing continues.
Even after months of documented war crimes, after initiatives like us, we are not numbers, after all condemnation and condemnation, there are still hungry children in Gaza that cannot sleep due to empty stomach pain and fear of bombs near their temporary tent.
This means that our world has failed. That all the institutions we built to protect justice have fallen, and all our constitutions have lost their meaning. This means that there is no international law or human rights. This means that all our “good” armies, which are supposed to be together to protect innocent people, are powerless.
It seems that all the protection of the world, safety, promises, and guarantee have collapsed under the weight of colonial sponsorship of Israel.
But why? What exactly what nations are afraid of? America’s weapons? Israel’s anger?
Why do they sacrifice all this to accommodate Israel’s desire to destroy and dominate?
I do not understand why the world asks the children of Gaza to be brave in the face of death, the patient in the face of loss, and the flexibility in the face of hunger. Why should the child hunger be expected to show more power than the so -called “free world”?
Silence is not just complicity. It is approval. Thus, the bombs continue to fall, and the Palestinians remain what the world allowed them to become: numbers. Death continues to visit their homes, and somewhere below the rubble, a child wonders about the sin he committed in this world.
