While a lot was reported about the economic partnership that President Donald Trump proposed to his Ukrainian counterpart, Voludmir Zellinski, there is a lot about this issue that was represented or it is just a clear mistake. Therefore, I welcome this opportunity to clarify how this partnership helps each of our countries.

Without supporting the United States and the American people, Ukraine’s position today will be fraught with risks at best. Support from the United States has enabled a historical and brave defense by the Ukrainian people, and as a result, we are now about to the peace agreement for Ukraine and renew stability in Europe.

Also reported previously, Zelensky suggested granting the United States a stake in rare land elements in Ukraine and critical minerals to visit Trump in September. In other words, it was the Ukrainian president himself who first suggested to President Trump an economic partnership with common benefits for both countries.

We know that the economic future of Ukraine at a time of peace can be more prosperous than any other point in the history of the nation, and will ensure a partnership with Americans with its prosperity. President Zelinski realizes this as well as President Trump. With these facts in mind, I traveled to Kyiv on my first international visit as Minister of Treasury with a proposal that clarifies our long-term commitment to free and safe Ukraine-an agreement that focuses on turbocharging for the country’s economic growth.

This partnership will support the United States’ continuous commitment to the people of Ukraine, as well as the basis for a strong rebuilding of the Ukrainian economy. While the prices of assets can be volatile, the Ukrainian debt is trading on the news, indicating that the creditors of Ukraine and the financial markets value the benefits of economic partnership.

The Ukrainian people showed incredible and flexible courage. They deserve to enjoy the benefits of the freedom they fought for. Ukraine is carved with natural resources and other national assets that can push its economic growth after the war, but only if its government and members are armed with capital, expertise and correct incentives.

The conditions of our partnership suggest that the revenues received by the Ukraine government from natural resources, the infrastructure and other assets are allocated to a fund that focuses on the long -term reconstruction and Ukraine’s development, as the United States will obtain economic and governance in that future investments. This structure and relationship bring high standards for transparency, accountability, corporate governance and legal frameworks necessary to attract a strong private investment for post -war growth in Ukraine.

The participation of the United States will not leave any field of corruption and deals from within. When I was in Kiev, I met many American companies that were on the ground in Ukraine for years. I have spoken to many of those ready to support the Ukrainian economy through a just and lasting peace. The conditions of this partnership will lead to mobilizing American talents, capital, standards and high governance to accelerate Ukraine’s recovery and send a clear message to Russia that the United States is investing in Ukraine free and prosperous in the long run.

The United States is a solid and long -term partner in this relationship. The revenue of future revenue flows will be re -investing again to the main sectors that focus on opening more Ukraine growth assets. The conditions of this agreement will also ensure that countries that have not contributed to the defense of Ukraine will not be able to benefit from rebuilding or these investments.

The United States has always been creative in finding ways to better support its partners. In 1942, the United States and the United Kingdom agreed to “strengthen their beneficial economic relations and improve economic relations all over the world”, on the basis of the exchange of destroyers to put rights in the Caribbean region. This front -minded ruling has helped in setting the financial basis of unprecedented economic growth in the past eighty years.

In a similar context, the innovative approach of President Trump represents a new model for international productive partnership. Let’s be clear as it does not mean. The United States will not take the ownership of material assets in Ukraine. And it will not be from Ukraine’s cataract with more debts. This type of economic pressure, while published by other global actors, will not advance American or Ukrainian interests. In order to create more value in the long run, the United States must invest alongside the people of Ukraine, so that both sides are motivated to get the most possible.

A close Ukraine neighbor, Poland, showed what is possible. Through the sound economic policies and the diverse economy, Poland was an attractive partner for trade and investment for the United States. Since 1992, the economy in Poland has doubled in the terms of real GDP more than three times in size while the per capita income of its citizens is more than seven times the day. The success witnessed by Poland in structural reforms, investment in infrastructure, attracting foreign investment, and developing a skilled workforce provides a clear examination of what Ukraine can achieve. Its strategic location, serious population, and natural resources are a strong basis for the aspirations of the Ukrainian people.

President Trump’s partnership is compatible with the interest of the American people with the interests of the people of Ukraine. The president realizes that national security has been built alongside economic security, and the most successful and secure in Ukraine, whenever the Ukrainian people and the United States benefit. This economic partnership will lay the foundations for permanent peace by sending a clear signal to the American people, the people of Ukraine, and the government of Russia on the importance of Ukraine’s future sovereignty of the United States.
