DOGE staffers offer group resignation in order to not ‘legitimise’ Musk | Donald Trump News

A group of civil service employees in the United States announced their resignation from Ministry of Governmental efficiency (Dog), in the last sign of the dispute in the administration of President Donald Trump.

The 21 employees have issued a joint letter to Doge Leadership, which was also obtained by the media including the Associated Press.

In their statement on Tuesday, they accused Duji of carrying out ideological attacks and risking of the integrity of government regimes.

The employees wrote: “We swore to serve the American people and support our right to the constitution through the presidential administrations.” “However, it became clear that we can no longer honor these obligations.”

Among the workers participating in the resignation are engineers, data scientists and product managers, all of whom were previously worked by major technology companies including Google and Amazon.

“We will not use our skills as technicians to waive the basic government systems, endanger data for Americans, or dismantle critical public services,” they explained. “We will not loan our experience to implement or give legitimacy to Doug’s behavior.”

Destiny disturbances

The resignation is the latest repercussions of Trump’s burned approach to reducing and reshaping the federal workforce.

Shortly after the election of a second term in November, Trump took advantage of billionaire Elon Musk to supervise Duji, a new committee whose jurisdiction was mysterious.

Initially, it was not clear how Doug would work: whether it would be outside or inside the government, for example. Critics also indicated that independent control agencies are already present to ensure government efficiency.

But on his first day in office, Trump signed an executive thing that transforms the digital service of the United States – a office in advance – into Dog.

The digital service was created in 2014 to treat technology obstacles. Its composition was pushed by White House conflicts to launch a medical insurance portal for Americans, as part of Parack Obama’s health care reforms at the time.

The employees who resigned on Tuesday were part of the digital service before it became Duj.

They warned that their office was visited by individuals who wore the permits of the White House visitors, who interrogated the employees about their political tendencies and experiences at work.

They also condemned the demobilization of the workers that were visited on Doge’s employees. Earlier this month, about 40 employees in the office – a radical reduction, were discharged, according to the resignation message on Tuesday.

The book “Theses” warned that these sharp sudden declines in the workforce will undermine the ability of the White House to deal with technology -based projects.

“These high skills civilian employees were working to update social security, old warriors services, tax files, health care, disaster relief, student aid, and other critical services,” says the resignation letter.

“Exposing them offering millions of Americans who depend on these services every day. The sudden loss of their technological experience makes critical systems and American data less safe.”

About 65 employees remained in the office after the demobilization of the workers in February – most of them were allocated to participate in the government that is reduced by Dog.

A third of that remaining group resigned on Tuesday.

A wider violent reaction

With responsibilities ranging from national security to intelligence collection and health care to education, the federal government is the largest employer in the United States.

More than two million employees work on the federal government, with thousands – including industries such as agriculture and technology – depends on government contracts.

But when he took office, Trump quickly moved to reduce the staff base, which he accused of harboring “Bern Berurats”, referring to his predecessor, former President Joe Biden.

However, many non -party civil service members help ensure the smooth performance of the government through various departments.

Trump and Misk also tried to close the entire agencies, including the United States Agency for International Development (the United States Agency for International Development), which was established under Congress Law. This, in turn, set a legal battle on the presidential powers.

Collective workers and Observatory offers It has also been ignited legal Challenges from unions, states and individual employees, who argue with their rights are refuted.

Experts have warned that the Musk and Trump approach can have particularly devastating effects for individual citizens, who can see data mixtures affect their daily lives, from social security payments to the possibility of privacy breach.

“You might be” move quickly and break things “acceptable for someone who owns a company and possesses the risks,” Cordell Shehtar, who was the chief information employee of the US Department of Information, told the Associated Press.

“But when things are broken in the government, you break the things that belong to people who have not been involved in it.”

Indeed, fractures began to appear inside the White House Trump – and even between the president and the musk itself.

On Saturday, Musk announced his social media platform that Federal employees had until Monday to respond to an email with a list of five points describing their work during the past week. He warned against not compliance, it will be understood as resignation.

But the reverse reaction was fast, as trade unions and politicians have this step as illegal.

Some government agencies have even told their employees Ignore musk request. By Monday, the Personnel Management Office for all departments and agencies announced that they can overlook the demand without fear of their jobs.

Some Republican lawmakers openly interrogate the approach of musk.

Senator Lisa Morkovsky From Alaska, for example, she criticized the shooting of Musk as irresponsible and unauthorized for government employees for a long time.

This is not the way we deal with any of our workforce. It is not the way we deal with our federal employees. “They deserve the best,” she said in an event in the city hall last week. “You do not treat people in this way who were good public employees.”

Mursovsky also criticized the musk request for a summary of the email for federal workers’ achievements.

“Our public workforce deserves to be treated with the dignity and respect of the unoccupied jobs they perform.” She wrote in a post on X.

But it seems that Mouc on Tuesday is multiplied by his threats on Monday.

“Taking into account the appreciation authority of the president, they will be given another opportunity,” Musk books On x. “Failure to respond for the second time will lead to termination.”
