The Lebanese army launched tear gas on the supporters of Hezbollah protesting against an Iranian flight banned from landing in Beirut, with increasing tensions between the government and the Shiite armed group.

Hezbollah supporters prevented the roads leading to Beirut airport on Friday and Saturday, but the government of Lebanon said it had decided to prevent the plane from landing on the concerns that Israel might hit the airport.

The Israeli army accused Tehran of using civilian aircraft to smuggle money to help militants.

Hassan Fadda, MP Hezbollah, accused the army of an “unjustified attack.” . . The women and children who were protesting peacefully should be on Sunday.

The Iranian News Agency, Tasnim, which belongs to the Elite Revolutionary Guards, said on Sunday that Hezbollah’s protests were “a warning to the new Lebanese government, which follows the directives of the American embassy to obstruct” the funeral of the Hazbah leader Hassan Nasrallah, to be held on February 23.

This friction comes at a time when Iran -backed Iran is supported by its weak position in the government of Lebanon, with the party’s marginalization to a large extent after the appointment of a new administration this year. Its struggle with Israel also reduced the group’s military wing.

The ceasefire between Israel and his country is scheduled to enter a new stage with the withdrawal of Israeli forces on Tuesday. Israel has indicated that it may maintain some strategic positions inside Lebanon.

Hezbollah leader Naim Qasim insisted on Israel to withdraw from all regions in southern Lebanon by the deadline.

The Israeli Defense Forces killed one woman and wounded several others in the southern Lebanese village of Hola, where the residents were returning to the area on Sunday, according to the government news agency in Lebanon. The IDF did not comment on the incident.

After a meeting with US Secretary of State Marco Rubio, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said: “Hezbollah must be disarmed. Israel prefers the Lebanese army to do this job, but no one should doubt that Israel will do what it should do to impose an understanding to stop Fire.

When the demonstrators gathered on Friday, a convoy of the United Nations peacekeeping forces heading to Beirut Airport was attacked. A Yunphille mission in Lebanon said that one vehicle was caught fire and the deputy commander of the force was wounded.

The US State Department said that the attack was “by a group of Hezbollah supporters.” Hezbollah and Amal, a Allied Shiite Movement, both condemned the incident, dozens of people were arrested.

Hezbollah urged the army to open an investigation into the treatment of demonstrators and called on the Lebanese state to protect peaceful demonstrations and allow Iranian aircraft to land.

The demonstrators gathered after the Lebanese government was canceled from a passenger plane from Tehran to Beirut on Thursday, leaving dozens of Lebanese travelers, who were separated.

The decision to prevent the trip came after the Israeli army accused Iran of trying to smuggle money aimed at arming Hezbollah on civil flights to Beirut airport.

The Iranian Foreign Ministry said on Friday that the plane was threatened, although it had not provided details of the threat.

The Iranian Civil Aviation Organization said that the Lebanese authorities have requested the suspension of Iranian flights to its airport until February 18, which is the date of the expiration of the fire, due to the security conditions in Beirut.

Lebanese officials suggested that the passengers be brought to the national carrier in Lebanon through a third country, but Iran refused, insisting on allowing Iranian trips.

“You cannot cancel Iran’s flights and replace them with Lebanese trips,” said Mogdaba Amani, Iran’s ambassador to Lebanon. “This issue can be resolved, provided that Iranian flights are resumed.”
