Divin Hani says he was just surprised like anyone else by inviting a knockout in the ninth round of the Battle of Gervonta “Tank” Davis against Lamont Roche last Saturday night at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York.

Hani said he had never seen anything like him before when the light WBA hero Davis (30-0-1, 28 KOS) had a knee in the ninth. The referee chose Steve Willis not to record it as a knockout. He even left Tank walking to his corner to offer his eyes.

Many people believe that if Lamont Roth took a knee and then returned to his corner, the ruling would have counted it as a knockout and then waved. He is not a star like Tank Davis, so he will not get the special treatment that the stars get.

The ruling began to give Tank eight, but then stop for some reason. It was strange. Roche feels that he should have been a knockout, which would have given him victory.
