This is the situation on Thursday, February 6:
Fighting
- Evan Fedorov, head of the regional military administration in Zaburizia, said that Russian forces carried out nearly 400 attacks on nine settlements in the southeast Zaburisia region in Ukraine within 24 hours. About 13 reports were registered on the damage of residential buildings, vehicles and infrastructure.
- Ukraine President Voludmir Zelinski said that Kiev returned 150 Russian families, some of whom were detained for more than two years. This effort was part of mutual exchange between the two countries, in which the United Arab Emirates mediated.
- Kiev’s army said it had shot down 57 out of 104 drones that Russia fired overnight, while 42 did not reach their targets. The army said that Moscow had shot the Iskander M. in Ukraine.
- The Russian government news agency, TASS, told the country’s Ministry of Defense as saying that the Moscow forces had seized the settlements of Paranivka and Novemings in the regions of Donetsk and Corcity in eastern Ukraine.

Politics and diplomacy
- Zelenskyy has signed two draft laws to extend martial law and mobilization for another three months, lasting until May 9.
- Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said that he welcomed the opinion of US President Donald Trump that attracting Ukraine towards NATO was a source of concern for Moscow.
- Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said that the country is in contact with Washington at a ministerial level between individual administrations and that the communication was “intensifying”, but he refused to provide more details.
- Lithuania’s Energy Minister Zivantas Weissionas said that the three Baltic countries that are separated from the Russian energy network on Saturday to join the Western Energy Network will remove “Russia’s ability to use the electricity system as a tool for geopolitical extortion.”
- Reuters reported that UK Foreign Minister David Lami will announce 55 million pounds (68.7 million dollars) in financial support to Kev to help put the country in the “strongest possible position”.
- Ukraine Foreign Ministry said that the International Atomic Energy Agency (International Atomic Energy Agency) had been postponed to its rotation to Russia’s nuclear power plant due to the lack of security guarantees from Moscow.
