It would be crazy for Devin Garcia to fight again without making at least one adjustment to rebuild and see where he stands. Nervous. Kingery was controlling Haney everywhere, dropping him six times in their fight last April, although the referee only counted three of them. The famous Southern California native hurt Devin whenever he wanted, and it seemed so easy.

If Dev adjusts the soft hit, he’ll find out if he can still hit a good head shot without hitting the face of the deck first. He can regain some of the self-confidence he may have lost that night against Garcia at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York.

Haney’s decision to sit out a year while Ryan is suspended makes many fans believe he is waiting it out before he fights again. Is Devin (31-0, 15 KOs) waiting for Garcia to get a lucrative rematch, or does he want to take a vacation after the defeat he suffered in his 12-round majority decision loss on April 20?

If there is fear on Haney’s part about whether he can handle being beaten even by a writer, it makes sense for him to remain inactive and wait for Kingry’s one-year suspension to expire in April. The last thing Devin needs is to get fired by some mysterious ham and whites and lose his rematch with Garcia forever.
