Marian Blazens33, her boyfriend was looking to buy a house in Montreal, Quebec, Canada, for about two years. In 2022, Plaisance encountered an online list of a three -bedroom apartment and two bathrooms located on an old bank. “The first time I saw the list, I was afraid,” I told CNBC. “I knew it was dedicated to us, but I kept quietly because, as you know, the home market is a little crazy.”

Initially, the old bank was listed for 900,000 CAD or 625,720 USD, but by its first visit to see the area in person, the price was reduced to 521,433 USD.

“The list had ended for a long time. No one was interested in buying the property,” she says.

The couple made an offer of $ 500,576 and was accepted. Mortgage is $ 2,655 a month and pay $ 4,080 a year of property taxes. Additional expenditures include $ 275 in facilities, $ 92 for Wi -Fi and $ 70 to park a monthly.

Plaisance says she spent a full year decorating the initial bedroom: “It is very Wes anderson, just like mixed space with the Parisian castle.”

The next step is to renew the kitchen, which intends to get professional assistance. In the next five years, she says she wants to do bathrooms.

“I don’t think there will be a time I will not do anything at home. I think it maybe in 10 years I will restore everything I did,” she says.

“But I want to live for a long time as I have done so far to enjoy it. I don’t see myself get out here anytime. It is the place of my dreams.”
